The inspiration for CHARDEP was the man who said
“The national ideals of India are Renunciation and Service. Intensity in those channels, and the rest will take care of itself”
-Swami Vivekananda.
The life and teachings of this sage who was beyond religion, caste and nationality, motivated a group of social activists who committed themselves to work for the development of society and to address the needs of the area which had been neglected.
CHARDEP was founded in 1998 and registered as a Trust (regn no.50/98) in the same year on the twenty fourth of June, 1998. Since its inception, the organization has had a working mantra of “Partnering People for Development” and has worked with the marginalized and rural communities throughout the district of Kanyakumari. |
